Sprawl over an area of 608.57sq km, Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary is
a major tourist destination situated in the lush green environs of Aravali
ranges in Kelwada tehsil of Rajsamand district, which is about 64kms from
Udaipur. Renowned for its archaeological value, Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary
houses many endangered species of wild-life. Fauna in Kumbhalgarh sanctuary
include wolves, Grey jungle fowl, four horned antelope, leopard, sloth
bear, hyena, jackal, jungle cat, sambhar, nilgai, chinkara, hare etc.
Kumbhalgarh Sanctuary is the only one of its kind where wolf breeding
has been successfully conducted. Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary is also
the home to variety of flora including many trees and plants having herbal
qualities. March- June is the best time to visit Kumbhalgarh wildlife
sanctuary.
