Kankroli, located 65 km away from Udaipur city in the district of Rajsamand
is famous for its Rajsamand Lake and Kankroli temple. The twin cities
Kankroli (also known as Haveli of Sri Dwarkadhish Prabhu) and Rajanagar
form the district headquarters Rajsamand. Kankroli temple, popularly known
as the 'Temple of Dwarikadhish' dedicated to Lord Krishna is the most
significant temple of the Vaishnavas and Vallabhacharya sect. The temple
was raised by Maharana Raj Singh in 1671 and resembles the famous Nathdwara
shrine. Other attraction of Kankroli is the Haveli Mandir located on the
banks of the Rajsamand lake which is an important place for Pushti Margi
Vallabhacharya Vaisnavs. India's leading tyre manufacturer, JK Tyre factory
is situated at Kankroli. Apart from this, Kankroli town is also famous
for marble mining. Haldi Ghati (the yellow valley) and Chetak Tomb are
some other attractions near by Kankroli.
