Kumbhalgarh Fort, located at a distance of 64 km from Udaipur in Kelwada
tehsil of Rajsamand district, is an important fort built by Maharana Kumbha
in the 15th century and later renovated by Maharana Fateh Singh in 19th
century. Situated on the top most ridges of Aravalli hills, around 1,914
meters above sea level and encircled by thirteen elevated mountain peaks,
Kumbhalgarh Fort sprawl over an area of 12 sq km. The walls of Kumbhalgarh
Fort stretch to the length of 36 kilometers is considered to be the second
longest in the world after the Great wall of China. The magnificent Kumbhalgarh
citadel has numerous palaces, temples and gardens such as Adal Mahal,
Kumbha Palace, Brahmanical and Jain Temples, baoris, chhattris etc.
