It is a collection of bhajans which
take you beyond the boundaries of ritualistic religion. The verses
talk about universal love and have an eternal sense about them shared
by the three poets Meera, Kabeer and Soor from the misty medieval
times of Indian history.
The album by H.M.V, is brought to life
by Pandit Hridyanath Mangeshkar one of the most creative music composers,
and his equally talented and famous sister Lata Mangeshkar. The
album opens with 'Na Main Dharmi Na Main Adharmi', a bhajan by Kabeer,
sung by Lata along with Roop Kumar Rathod and chorus. Pandit Hridyanath
has composed its music brilliantly giving a modern feel to a pure
Hindustani raga. Next, Lata brings out emotions of grief perfectly
in 'Dinabath Ab Baari Tumhari' . 'Jheenee Jheenee Bee Ne Chadariya'
is the best among the lot. Even though the composer has used the
electronic synthesizer here, there is no modern touch to it.
Side 'B' contains 'Hari Bin Kun Gati
Meri' by Meera, 'Main Pardesin Naari Akeli' and 'Arre Dil Mere Mann'.
The quality of the tunes make Lata sound fresher than ever. In spite
of her age, she sails through the classical notes and at the same
time retains her real vocal purity. It is a musical treat and a
must buy for bhajan lovers.
