Cities & Towns Maharashtra Aurangabad Destination Forts, Palaces, Monuments and Museums Chini Mahal
Chini Mahal also known as Chinese Mahal, situated 13kms from Aurangabad is a blue tiled palace located within the Daulatabad fort. It was here that the last king of Golconda, Abdul Hasan Tana Shah was imprisoned in 1687 by the Moghul emperor Aurangzeb for 13 years until his death. The blue Chinese tiles that once covered the palace has earned it the name Chini Mahal and now only fragments of these tiles have survived to remind us of the long-gone affluence. |
