Lal Masjid as the name suggests is a red-painted basalt building, situated right in the heat of the old city area of Aurangabad. It was constructed in 1665 A.D by Zainul Abdin Mafti, the superintendent of building in Aurangzeb's time. Ornamented with stucco plaster, this building is used as a religious and political center for the city's elite and government officials. |
