Ingredients :

Basmati rice

- 3 cups

Water

- 6 cups

Chicken

- 1kg medium pieces

Onion

- 3 large onions

Tomato

- 2

Ginger chopped

 -  

Garlic chopped

 -  

Cinnamon sticks

- 2

Cardamom

- 4-5

Whole black pepper

- 8-10
Lemon - 1

Salt to taste

 -  

Tomato paste

- 2 tbsp

Garam masala powder

- 1/2 tsp

Cooking oil

 -  

Ghee

   

Green chilies

- 5

Turmeric powder

- 1/2 tbsp

Chili powder

- 1 1/2 tbsp

Coriander powder

- 1tbsp

Whole Coriander

- 1 ½ tbsp

Chopped coriander leaves

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the rice.
  2. Heat ghee & cooking oil in a cooker.
  3. Add cardamom, cinnamon
  4.  Cook onion until brown, add tomatoes, green chilies and add ginger &garlic.
  5. Add turmeric powder, chili powder, coriander powder, garam masala powder
  6.  Add tomato paste, whole black pepper, and whole coriander & chopped coriander leaves.mix chicken pieces. Add 6 cups water. Bring to boil. Add rice & salt. Add lemon juice.
  7. Close the cooker. Don't put weight. Leave the rice on low heat to absorb.
  8. U can use a large pot with tight lid.
