A traditional chicken curry from Mangalore, Karnataka, popular among the Kannadigas..

In this curry, chicken is cooked with coconut and spices.

Ingredients :

   
Onion - 50 gm
Tomato - 50 gm
Garlic chopped - 5 gm
Salt - to taste
Chicken - 250 gm
Coconut oil - 25 ml
Coconut milk - 50 ml
Coriander leaves - 30 gm
Masala paste -  
Grated coconut - 150gm
Garlic cloves - 5 gm
Cumin seeds - 3 gm
Curry - 1 gm
Pepper - 3 gm
Byadagi chilli - 75 gm
Turmeric powder - 3 gm

Cooking Method :

Marinate chicken with salt & turmeric powder.

In a Kadhai, heat coconut oil. Add chopped garlic, then the smell of the garlic flavour will emanate. Add onions and saute well. Add chopped tomatoes and little bit of curry leaves.

Add the ground masalas and mix well, add water and cook till the raw smell goes away. Add the marinated chicken pieces. Add little bit of water, then little bit of coriander leaves, it will give extra flavour to the chicken curry.

Chicken is cooked now, finally add coconut milk. Switch off the flame. Add little bit of salt to taste.
