Vikram, fondly called as Chiyyan by his fans
is the current hot favourite of South Indians. He is residing at
Chennai with his family, wife Shaila and two kids. Though he has
no filmy background, Vikram had been obsessed with acting since
he was a child. In 1989, he debuted with 'Thandhu Vittaen Ennai',
directed by veteran director R. Sridhar, which didn't do any good
for his career. The next ten years he got only character roles in
Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu films. Then the film 'Sethu', directed
by Bala, which was a super hit stepped him on to the position of
a superstar. His hard work earned him the National Award for best
actor of 2004 for the Tamil film 'Pithamagan', again directed by
Bala in which he played the role of Chittan, a grave-digger. The
film 'Annyan', placed him on top with his breathtaking performance
as a person with multiple personality disorder. The film assured
him a place in the heart of millions of fans all over India. He
has a good physique and a nice personality. His down to earth manner
combined with grit and determination is the recipe for his success.
