Better known as the younger brother of Salman Khan, Sohail hails from a family with a strong filmy background. The producer- director-writer-actor Sohail's life changed dramatically with his second release 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya' (1998). After directing and producing a number of movies such as 'Auzaar' (1997), 'Pyar Kiya To Darna Kya'(1998) and 'Hello Brother' (1999) he ventured into acting with his fourth release 'Maine Dil Tujko Diya' (2002). Sohail, a totally down to earth person, has now emerged from the shadow of being Salman Khan's brother and has made a name of his own as a producer, director, writer and actor. He is married to Seema Sajdeh and they have one son Irfaan Khan.
