His name is synonymous with style in
Hindi films. Manish Malhotra, India's leading costume designer, who is now a
budding movie director, started his career as a model. He got a break when he
designed Juhi Chawla's clothes for the film 'Swarg'. But
his big real break came when he designed a few
costumes for actress Sridevi and since then, he has not looked back.
Specialized in women’s clothing styles, he has designed costumes for
almost all the leading actresses from Sridevi to Preity
Zinta. If that’s
not enough, he has been honored with various awards like the Filmfare Award,
the Showtime Opinion Poll Award, the Siemen's Viewer's Choice Award, the
Bollywood Award and the Lux-Zee Cine Award. He also runs a high profile
couture store Reverie, has his own designing studio Sheetal (SDS) and
conducts fashion shows.
