Ambedkar Memorial Park located near Indira Nagar, 15
km from Lucknow was established in 1978. Also referred as the Ghariyal
Rehabilitation Centre, it was developed by the Forest Department for the
preservation of Crocodiles, Gharial. The forest is famous for its deer
park and crocodile nursery. One can found various types of birds, deer,
black buck, sambhar etc in their natural habitat. Spread in a very wide
area, this forest consists of a lush green ground with beautiful flowers
and trees. The children’s Park with lots of traditional Jhoolas for children,
a canteen with cold drinks and snacks , boating in the Kukrail river and
the rest house etc make it a beautiful picnic spot. It also offers recreational
activities like playing Badminton, Tennis Ball, Cricket, Flying Disc etc.
It houses the Regional Science Centre and a Science Museum for innovative
programs, which promise a pleasurable learning experience. The museum
remains closed on all Mondays. The entrance fee of Rs.5 for 2 wheelers
or 10 for cars to be paid at the entrance gate.
