The beautiful hill station of Upper Koodaiyar at an altitude of 6000 ft  above sea level is located on the Southern most tip of the Western Ghats, about 59 kms from Thirunelveli. Noted for its panoramic views, this area surrounded by verdant forests is full of rubber, cardamom and tea plantations. The major attraction of Upper Kodaiyar are the summer resort Manjolai, Kalachi, Nalumukku, Kuthiraiyerri and Oothu. Upper Kodaiyar can be reached through the road from Balmore and lower Kodaiyar by winch.
