Situated 4 km from the city center, Dolls Museum is one of the popular
tourist destination which attracts large crowd from all over the world.
Established on 1974, the museum produces a fairy tale world with number
of beautiful dolls from different states of India like Gujarat, Bengal,
Assam, Kashmir, Maharashtra , Tamil Nadu, Punjab etc. These dolls dressed
up in their traditional costumes represent the culture and convention
of different countries. The most striking among them are the bridal dresses
of Mysore, Kerala, Gujarat, Bengal and Punjab and the dresses of classical
dance forms like Bharatanatyam, Kathakali, Odissi and Kuchipudi. The museum
also exhibits dolls from Mexico, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Lebanon, Uganda,
Britain and U.S.A and dolls wearing bridal dresses of Japan, Malaysia,
Burma, China and New Zealand. It is open on all days from 10.00 am to
5.00 pm with an entry free of Rs. 2/-
