The City Palace, located in the heart of Jaipur is a historic landmark
built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, as the fortress of the Kachchawah Rajput
rulers of Jaipur. The palace is a wonderful blend of Rajput and Mughal
style of architecture and its vast complex occupies one seventh of the
walled city of Jaipur. It is the home to several palatial structures like
the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Badal Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple
and the City Palace Museum. The museum has a superb collection of costumes
and armoury of Rajputs and Mughals. October to February is the best time
to visit the palace and it opens from 9.30.am to 4.30 pm.
