City Palace

The City Palace, located in the heart of Jaipur is a historic landmark built by Maharaja Jai Singh II, as the fortress of the Kachchawah Rajput rulers of Jaipur. The palace is a wonderful blend of Rajput and Mughal style of architecture and its vast complex occupies one seventh of the walled city of Jaipur. It is the home to several palatial structures like the Chandra Mahal, Mubarak Mahal, Badal Mahal, Shri Govind Dev Temple and the City Palace Museum. The museum has a superb collection of costumes and armoury of Rajputs and Mughals. October to February is the best time to visit the palace and it opens from 9.30.am to 4.30 pm.
