Bund Garden also known as Mahatma Gandhi Udyan, is situated
7 km from Pune Railway Station, in the Koregaon Park area, on the
right bank of rivers Mula and Mutha. The garden consists a dam built by
Mr. Jamshedjee Jeejeebhoy with an aim to provide water to the poor farmers
for farming. Bund Garden derived its name from the mini dam (bund) built
across the Mula-Mutha Rivers. Visitors can enjoy boating through the rivers.
One can also visit the nearby Gandhi National Memorial or Aga Khan Palace
through the bridge built on the river. This famous garden of Pune is home
to a number of migratory birds during winter. The lush green lawns, attractive
plants and big trees gives calmness and cool fresh air to refresh the
minds of the visitors. There is a well-designed jogging track near the
Garden for the joggers and morning walkers. Magic shows and Horse Riding
conducted in the garden are the other attractions.
