Ullal Juma Masjid is an important pilgrim center located about 10 kms south of Mangalore city. The darga built here to commemorate the Muslim saint Seyyid Mohammed Shareeful Madani has been drawing pilgrims from all faiths irrespective of caste and creed. Legend has it that about 400 years ago, the saint came to Mangalore from Saudi Arabia, reaching the shores of Ullal by floating on a piece of cloth. There are many stories associated with the Madani's miraculous power. After his death, a tomb was raised over the Madani's grave and the miracles are still continuing.
