Method of Preparation :

Clean and remove the head of the fish. Halve the fish.

Spread a few slices of onions and tomatoes in a pan. Place 1/2quantity of the sliced fish over the onion and tomato slices in the pan. Add another layer of onions and tomatoes and cover with the remaining fish. Sprinkle sliced ginger and garlic over the fish. Scatter over the remaining onion and tomato slices.

Keep the pan on the fire. Pour oil, six or seven tablespoons water mixed with salt to taste and the vinegar over the fish.

Cook on a slow fire until fish is half done. Shake the pan once in a while. Sprinkle turmeric powder over fish. Add green chillies and cook until fish is tender.
