Ayala or mackerel Mulakittathu

Ingredients :

   
Coconut Oil - 7-8 tbsp
Fenugreek seeds - 2 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 3-4 tbsp
Shallots - 5-6 tbsp
Ginger - 4-5 tbsp
Green Chillies - 10-11
Garlic Paste - 4-5 tbsp
Curry leaves - 20 nos
Coriander Powder - 150gm
Red chilly - 100gm
Kashmiri chilly - 100gm
Malabar tamarind soaked in water - 1/2 cup
salt - to taste
Water as required mackerel fish - 20 no

Cooking Method :

In a large skillet add 7-8 tbsp of Coconut Oil let it heat up to this add 2 tbsp of Fenugreek seeds 3-4 tbsp of Mustard seeds and let them splutter. Add thinly chopped Shallots, Ginger, Green Chillies, Garlic Paste and Curry leaves into the skillet.

Once the condiments turns soft and tender. Lets spice up our curry by adding Coriander Powder, Red chilly Powder Kashmiri chilly along with Malabar tamarind juice and salt. Meaures are for 20 no.of fish.

If required we can add water and let the curry to boil for sometime. Once the curry starts to boil, add cleansed mackerel fishes into it along with curry leaves and coconut oil.

Let the fish pieaces soak in gravy for 10 minutes and finally your Ayala Mulakittathu is ready to serve.

Ayala (mackerel) Mulakittathu is a simple 10 minutes recipe which any one can try out.
