Preparation :
Before cooking you need to roast the rava till crisp. Roasted rava is also readily available in the market. Here we are using roasted rava so there is no need to roast it again.
Put a kadai on the stove and heat two or three tablespoon of oil. Splutter mustard seeds, followed by urud dal and curry leaves. Add onions, green chilli, minced ginger carrot and beans to it. Sauté the onions till it turns golden brown. Now add 2 cups of water to it. When the water starts boiling add rava to the water. Keep stirring while you add rava .. Continue stirring and cook for five minutes. Now remove the kadai from the stove. Garnish with cashew nuts and coriander leaves. Serve with chutney.
According to your taste you can add green peas, potatoes or any other vegetables to the upma. This colourful recipe can easily attract children's attention too. |
