Urmila Matondkar, a Maharashtrian girl from a middle class family stepped into filmdom as a child artist. The beautiful girl with her impressive figure debuted as a heroine in the Malayalam movie 'Chanakya' (1989) and later with the Bollywood movie 'Narsimha'(1991). After a few insignificant movies, it was her magnificent performance in Ram Gopal Verma's 'Rangeela' (1995), that got her recognition as an actress.
