Sivaji is an awesome and amazing movie where the mega combination of
Rajini’s superstar acting and the movie’s promotional effects
by director cum producer Shankar show all the way through in its making.
Shankar made a quiet announcement of this film on Nov 28 2005 in a
simple function which was attended by selected invitees, including heroine
Shriya and lyricist Vairamuthu. Shankar has seen to it that the film's
story is closely guarded to ensure a thrilling audience entertainment
at the time of release.
This film is titled Sivaji after thespian Sivaji Ganesan in honour
of his memory. Sivaji Ganesan made his debut in the film Parasakthi
which was produced by AVM. An interesting point to note here is that
the real name of Rajini is Shivaji Rao. The film is to be made at a
budget of around Rs.50 crores, but Shankar is known to make successful
big budget films. When Rajinikanth asked Shankar to develop and write
the movies script for him, Shankar’s one sentence storyline seems
to said have completely enamored the superstar.
Sivaji is AVM’s first film to be directed by Shankar. It is also
AVM's 168th venture and superstar Rajini’s ninth film with AVM.
A coincidence here is that this movie is Shankar's ninth directorial
venture, a number which Rajini considers as significant since the superstar's
lucky number is also said to be nine. Rajini is reported to have told
Shankar that “Nine" would prove lucky for both of them.
The film Sivaji marks the coming together of Rajni, AVM and Shankar
for the first time and this mega trio combination is the most important
promotional aspect of this film.
Music is by none other than Isai Puyal AR Rahman and lyrics are by
the renowned Vairamuthu. KV Anand is roped in for handling the camera.
All these creative and power building aspects clubbed with crowd pulling
stars like Vivek and Prakashraj who don important supporting roles,
is sure to make this movie a blockbuster hit.
