Talented film and television actor Sachin has proved his directorial abilities
in his first Kannada venture "Ekadantha", for which he has written
the story and the screenplay too.
It is based on his well-known play written in the 80s and deftly blends
comic elements with some religious content.
Sachin has been able to get the best out of his huge star cast that
includes Vishnuvardhan, Ramesh Arvind and Prema. Apart from them, 30
other artistes, mostly comedians, have acted in this laugh riot.
The major part of the story takes place in a bus. Though not highlighted,
the crime element does play a part in the story.
Except for the first 20 minutes, which really tests the patience of
the audience, the entire film is loaded with fun filled sequences.
The songs of the film are of high quality and music director Guru Kiran
has been able to write and render the popular tune "Bandal badaayi
maadeva" for this first production.
Vishnuvardhan is at his lively best in the role of a bus conductor.
Ramesh Arvind and Prema have effectively portrayed a loving couple on
a pilgrimage to complete a vow. All the other comedians and character
artistes have given their best to make it entertaining fare.
The camera work of P.K.H. Doss is to be noted. It adds to making Sachin's
first Kannada film one of the most enjoyable movies in recent times.
