"Omkara", based on "Shakespeare's "Othello", is poignant and intense tale. This Vishal Bharadwaj's much-anticipated film, set in western Uttar Pradesh. The unique film about the criminal mafia in Uttar Pradesh as transposed into "Othello" has all the ingredients of a typical Hindi film, including item songs by Bipasha.

In this movie Ajay Devdan plays the title role. He will be seen as a group leader who heads a gang of outlaws. Saif Ali Khan and Viveik Oberoi play his gang-mates and Kareena Kapoor is his love interest in the film.Konkona SenSharma also plays a  notable role in this movie

The music of the film has, however, been launched and the album has hit the market. The title song of the film is already running on all TV channels and it gives the feel of the rural background the film is set in.The album has everything - love, ballad, item and rustic songs. Bharadwaj, who started his career as a music director, has composed the music of the film and Gulzar has penned down the lyrics. It will hit the theatre on  on July 28.
