Dwarkadhish Temple, located close to the Kamla Tower is dedicated to Lord
Krishna. The term 'Dwarkadhish' means the 'King of Dwarka'. Everyday during
the worship, arti is performed to the deity. The Jhoola or Swing festivals
held in the month of Shravan (i.e in between July and August) is celebrated
with great delight. The to and fro movement of the swing represents a
journey from the worries of the world, freedom from the earthly attachments
and a state of joy. The idol of Lord Krishna is decorated with new clothes,
ornaments and flowers. During the festival days, the idol along with one
of his consort Radha are portrayed sitting on a beautifully decorated
swing. This is done as an admiration to the deities and also to bring
delight and gratitude with holiness. On the concluding day of the festival,
prasadam or sweet meet are distributed among the devotees.
