Situated on the outskirts of Chennai city (32 km), the sprawling 1,265 acre (510 hectare) Anna Zoological Park is said to be one of the biggest in South Asia. The park has a rich population of tropical mammals, birds and reptiles amongst others. The nearest railhead is Vandalur (1km). 
The park opens from 11 am to 7 pm on all days except Tuesdays and on Sunday and other Holidays from 10 am to 8 pm.
