How to get there

Air :
Nedumbassery airport in Kochi which is the nearest airport is nearly 58 km away from Thrissur. Karippoor airport at Kozhikode is 80 km away from Thrissur.

Rail :
Thrissur is an important railhead of the Southern railway located about 1km south-west of the town and is linked to most major towns inside and outside Kerala. Trains to Ernakulam, towards south, take about 11/2 hours; trains to Kozhikode, towards north, take about 3hours. The broad gauge running north to south enters Thrissur district near Vallathol Nagar Station and crosses the district for about 69 kms. passing through Vettikkattiri, Mullurkkanchery, Mulankunnathukavu, Poonkunnam, Thrissur, Ollur, Pudukkad, Nellai, Irinjalakuda, Chalakudy, Koratty, Angamaly and Karukutty.

Road :
Thrissur is connected with all important tourist centers in South India by road. National Highway No. 47 includes Thrissur-Waniampara road, which starts from Thrissur town and runs eastward to the district limit at Vaniampara and enters Palakkad district via Alathur; and Thrissur-Chalakudy Road which starts from Thrissur town and goes southward to the district limit at Anjal and enters Ernakulam district via Angamali enroute to Thiruvananthapuram. Besides KSRTC bus station, the other three main private bus stations in the city are Shakthan Thampuran bus stand, North bus stand and Old bus stand. The KSRTC station that is very near to the Railway station runs long distance and interstate services.
