St. Peters and St. Paul's Orthodox Church
 

The Parumala St. Peters and St. Paul's Orthodox church, situated in Mannar on the banks of river Pampa, is about 13 kms away from Thiruvalla. The church is renowned as a centre of worship for all religious communities and as one of the main pilgrimage centers for Christians in Kerala. It contains the mortal remains of Mar Gregorios Metropolitan known as Parumala Thirumeni who was the first declared saint of the Malankara Orthodox Church. The old church, believed to be built in 1825 AD was completely demolished, retaining the holy altar and the room where the mortal remains of Thirumeni are entombed and a new church was constructed.

The ormaperunnal (commemoration day) of the Parumala Thirumeni is celebrated on 1st and 2nd of November with a grand ceremonial procession. Special rituals and prayers are held on these days which is attended by thousands of devotees. 

Mass timings :
The holy mass is conducted at 7am on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday and at 7.30am on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday and at 8.30am on Sundays .
