St. George Orthodox Church also known as Paliakarapally, is one the oldest and famous churches situated in Thiruvalla town, 30 km from Pathanamthitta. Constructed in typical Christian style of architecture, the church has a beautiful collection of mural paintings. Thiruvalla is the headquarters of the Malankara Marthoma Syrian Church.
