Shivarathri Utsavam is celebrated annually at the Thiruvangoor Sri Mahaganapathy temple. This temple dedicated to the elephant headed son of Lord Shiva, Ganapathy is located at Thiruvangoor, about 18kms from Kozhikode. The celebration lasts for two days and traditional art forms are performed during the festive days. Theyyam, a ritual art is conducted on the second day and it attracts a large number of devotees from every nook and corner of the region.
