By Air
Chandigarh domestic airport is 12 km away from city center. Indian Airlines connect the city with other major cities like Mumbai , Delhi, Jammu, and Amritsar .
By rail
The rail network serves the city conveniently. Chandigarh Railway Station is about 8kms from the City Centre. Frequent trains are running between Delhi and Chandigarh (260 km). One can get connection trains to Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and Trivandrum (Kochu Veli) from Chandigarh. Daily trains are available from Chandigarh to Lucknow.
By road
The city can boast of an excellent road-network. The National Highways No. 21 (Ambala-Kinnaur) and 22 (Chandigarh-Leh) are the chief road arteries linking Chandigarh with the rest of the country. The city is within motorable distance from a number of popular towns and pilgrimage centres. |
