Air: 

Sikkim doesn't have its own airport since it falls in a hilly region. Nearest Airport is Bagdogra in West Bengal, 117km from Gangtok.It is connected with regular flights from from Kolkata, Delhi and Guwahati. The Bagdogra airport is connected to Gangtok by a helicopter service which takes approx. 30 minutes to reach Gangtok. This service is accessible only for once during a day and four passengers are permissible at a time. Prior booking is needed to avail this service.

Rail :

Sikkim doesn't comprise any rail network in its fringe. The nearest railway stations are Siliguri and New Jalpaiguri that lie at distances of 114 kms and 126 kms respectively. Both of these stations are well-connected with Delhi, Kolkata, Guwahati and other major cities of India. From railways stations, one can head for private taxis and regular buses that connect with Gangtok in Sikkim.

Road : Having a fine networks of roads, Sikkim is being connected with all major parts of the state as well as outside. There are regular bus services by the Sikkim Nationalized Transport. One can also hire taxis or cabs from different towns to reach Sikkim.
