Kishtwar National Park

The park was started in 1981, covering an area of 310sq. km in Kishtwar district. The nearest town is Kishtwar at a distance of 60km. The airport and railhead for the park are at Jammu at a distance of about 245km.

The fauna of the park include musk deer, Kashmir stag, Languor markhar, ibex, Himalayan tahr, black bear, leopard cat, leopard and snow leopard. The birds commonly found are monal pleasant, golden eagle, koklas, golden oriole, flycatcher.

City Forest National Park | Salim Ali National Park

The park has an area of 9.07sq.km.and is located in the proximity of the capital city of Srinagar. The Srinagar airport is 12km from the park.

The fauna found are hangul, serow etc. The birds are Chakar, monal, snow cock.

Hemis High Altitude National Park

Named after the famous monastery Hemis Gompa, the national park spread out over 600 sq. Km, is situated at Ladakh in J&K. The park known as the Snow leopard capital of India has an altitudinal range of 3,300 to  6,000 m, and hosts a remarkable variety of wildlife. Hemis was established as a national park on 4th February 1981. This national park offers the tourists an abundant treasure of natural beauty with mountains of various shapes and sizes, mixed with vast flatlands, deserts and bordered by the fast flowing river Indus.
