Cooking Method :

Trim off the brown edges of the bread slices, and shred them into small pieces. Place the crumbled bread pieces in a glass bowl. Mean while in another bowl break 4 eggs, add salt to taste & continue to beat till it foams up.

Mix the breadcrumbs and beaten egg; knead lightly to make smooth dough. Add corn flour mixed with water into the dough and continue to knead. Make equal size small round shaped bread balls from the dough. Keep it aside for 10 minutes.

Now lets make the sugar syrup - heat sugar and water in a thick-bottomed vessel and boil until the sugar dissolves (you can also add a pinch of cardamom powder optionally to enhance the flavor). Remove the syrup from the stove and keep it ready for the bread jamuns.

Heat oil in a thick-bottomed pan. Add bread balls into the hot oil slowly one after the other. Deep-fry the bread balls until they evenly turn brown in color.

Transfer the fried jamun's into the sugar syrup, leave it for 30 to 1 hour before serving. Bread jamun's are perfect to serve during festivals.. An easy dessert, which can be prepared with left over bread slices.
