Ravichandran presented
his brother Eshwar, aka Balaji, in "Aham Premasmi" some months ago. The
film had raised high expectations before its release but ended just an average
grosser. Eshwar's second film "Thunta" also elicited expectations, but here
he shows his potential as an action hero.
Director Om Prakash Rao has his own formula of filmmaking. His films are a remix of many successful non-Kannada films. In "Thunta", he has lifted tracks of the popular Tamil film "Kaadhalukku Maryadai" and added sequences from Telugu films "Varsham", "Atanokkade" and "Student Number One" as well as the Hindi film "Style" directed by N. Chandra.
Rao's formula has succeeded in films like "Kalasi Palya" and "Ayya".
Ektha Khosla, the heroine from Mumbai, does not impress but looks good in the song sequences.
Ashish Vidyarthi is at his menacing best. Shobharaj appears in a single sequence, but he comes out with flying colours. All the other artists have done well.
Seetharam's camerawork is good. But Ravichandran's music composition is just average.
