Keerthi Chacra, directed by Major Ravi for R B Chowdhary of SuperGood
Films, in which Mohanlal plays the role of Major Mahadevan. 'Keerthichakra'
tells the story of an emotional relationship between Major Mahadeva
and a Havildaar Jaykumar. The film which depicts the real life of an
army soldier is more personified story than normal commando stories
told with boosted patriotism.The film also brings to light another not
so revealed face of terrorism in the country.
The director of the film Major Ravi is himself an ex-serviceman, he
knows how to visualise the life of people in barracks and how they fighting
for their mother land. He tells the ruthless life of the soldiers, the
pain they suffer from due to long separation from their dear ones, the
strong bonds that are developed in the course of their career etc through
this movie.
The major portions of the film is shot in C.R.P.F camp in Sreenagar,
Pichilora and in parts of Kargil. Havildaar Jaykumar's character is
played by Tamil actor Jeeva. The rest of the cast includes BijuMenon,
Cochin Haneeef, Shammy Thilakan, Sanusha and Payal.The film has three
heroines- Gopika, Reema Sen and Lekshmi Gopalaswamy. The cinematography
of the film is by Thiru and the music is scored by Gireesh Puthencheruy
and Joshua Sreedhar. The film is expected to arrive in theatres by July
4.
