First time feature
director Sarathchandran masterfully narrates the sentimental story of a poor
village girl with charm and grace. The premise is simple but the story has a lot
of complications. He handles the subject with ease and conviction. But there was
no need as such to portray beautiful Kavya as a dark, adivasi girl. Sarathchandran's
talent and versatility is excellent. Hopefully, he will grow into a formidable
talent in the Indian cinema.
Kavya presents an excellent performance. The movie
revolves around her life and she carries it very well with charm and charisma.
She has good physical presence and her feelings are real. She
portrays the toughness, innocence and charm of the character very well. This is one of her best
performances ever. Sunil also has given an intense performance. His romantic
interludes with Kavya are good. As a lover, his emotions are great. He is
definitely an upcoming star.
The photography is filled with imagination and creativity. The scenery of the countryside is breathtaking. The movie is all
about growing up, being strong and letting things go. It has good entertainment
value mainly because it is filled with moments of tenderness. The
story could have been a little more realistic, still it presents many enjoyable
moments for the audience.
We rate this movie ABOVE AVERAGE.
