After a hat-trick of smash hits, Chiranjeevi comes
up with a cliched comedy in "Andharivadu" to disappoint his huge fan
following.
Normally, dual roles are sketched to display contrasting
characters. But here both have similar characteristics. You cannot find
much difference even in looks since only a few strands of grey distinguish
the older Chiranjeevi.
Young director Srinu Vytla, who impressed with "Anand"
and "Venky", lacks the verve to churn out a big-budget, star-centric
movie. Even with Chiranjeevi, he relies more on comedy scenes. He even
dilutes the anger of Chiranjeevi by having a tame villain who just keeps
yelling but does nothing until the climax.
It is surprising to watch Tabu in a timid role. She
plays a woman with no brains of her own since she marries a ruthless
drunkard without batting an eyelid and just obeys his orders, all through
the film.
The
character of debutant Rimmi Sen is a shade better as she displays crookedness
to separate the father and son.
Villain Pradeep Rawat displays anger more in words
than in action. Prakash Raj plays the usual father-in-law.
Comedians Sunil with shades of grey and Brahmanandam
evoke a few laughs.
Composer Devisri Prasad scores music for Chiranjeevi
after "Shankar Dada" and belts out fast numbers.
. Producer Allu Arvind, who made hits like "Rowdy Alludu"
with his brother-in-law Chiranjeevi, chooses a weak storyline.
The story opens with the older Chiranjeevi spending
most of the time with his friends. He is involved in many brawls and
earns the wrath of his idealistic son, an anchor in a satellite channel.
