Things go smoothly until he receives a call from home that his father
Jatta Singh Bedi (Amrish Puri) has had a heart attack. He rushes home
only to find that it was a ploy to make him come home and that his marriage
has been fixed with Richa (Hrishitaa Bhatt). Jatta Singh makes sure
that things move as planned and Jimmy, scared to reveal the truth goes
along with it. He goes back to America. But when there is no news from
him for months his father and his deshi wife Richa comes to New York
in search of him. There begins Jimmy's nightmare. The rest of the story
deals with how Jimmy catapults between the two women before getting
caught and how all hell break loose when the women comes to know the
truth and finally how the problem is solved..
The first half is enjoyable and credible. The film makes light of 'bigamy'
and there are some light moments which makes you laugh. But the film
suffers in the latter part of the second half and in the climax. The
climax could have been better written. Cinematography is good with beautiful
locales. Music is easy on the ears. The theme suffers due to its lack
of freshness.
Ritesh Deshmukh makes a sincere attempt but fails to hold the film
together. Brande is a surprise- apart from showing skin she proves that
she can emote as well. Hrishitaa Bhatt handles her role with ease. Satish
Kaushik steals the show with his light banter. Satish Shah and Amrish
Puri are okay.
Overall we rate the film average for its lightness but overall it
lacks impact.
