The story is based on the life and relationships of three friends Akash, Siddharth and Sameer. All three of them are different in their own way- they have different perspectives on women, love and relationships How they deal with it has been brought out well in the film. For a debut film, the director Farhan Akhtar, son of famous Javed Akhtar has done a commendable job in weaving three different characters in one story.

Sameer played by Saif Ali Khan treats everything lightly...life, relationships everything is fun for him, while Siddharth (Akshaye Khanna) is just the opposite. He keeps looking for the perfect woman and falls for one, much older to him... Tara played by Dimple Kapadia. Aamir Khan as Aakash, cares for himself. He loves the beautiful Shalini (Preity Zinta). But for him love is not important.

Everybody has done their part well except maybe for Sonali Kulkarni (Pooja) who does'nt have much of a character except to look pretty. Saif with his perfect comic sense, Akshaye with his facial expressions, Dimple with her commanding presence and Preity with her vibrancies and beauty all have done a good job. But it's Aamir Khan who walks away with the film in spite of having some negative shade to his character. 

The plus points are the music and the photography. The beautiful shots are taken in Sydney, Goa and Bombay. The camera work with the many close up shots is smooth. The music by Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy set on the track of Javed Akhtar is different and lively.

Overall the movie can be termed as an entertainer.
