Mr.Spurlock also covered basis like the typical lunch program in
the public school, consumer trends about the food habits as well as
the plans of some food related industries to utilize various data
to increase profitability. Corporations like McDonald never gave any
serious attention to the ethical responsibility in mass marketing
their products with all kind of gimmicks like free toys for the kids,
scratch and win tickets (which had its own flaws), etc.
Within the last few years Mcdonald had been sued many times for various
reasons like false advertising, selling unhealthy food, torturing
animals and using animal fats in their "Vegetarian Fries".
McDonald settled some of the cases out of court without admitting
their fault. The link between fast food and obesity had been established
a long time ago and the consumption of fast food is a major reason
for so many overweight children. Today obesity is the biggest health
problem in America.
"SuperSize Me " was a smash hit at this year's Sundance
Film Festival in January. After the festival, the movie got considerable
attention from the public. Mr. Spurlock's brilliant and daring personality
and nifty film making techniques made this movie a success. Definitely
movie has created a fear factor in the public. McDonald had dumped
" Super Size " option and introduced an adult happy meal
in their menu, a day before this movie opened nationally.
Movie has a valid point," Junk food is not good for your health
" and "What you eat is, what you are". Everyone should
see this movie, just to realize health hazards of fast foods. After
seeing the film you might not learn a lesson but you will get a "
McThought" before you eat some "McJunk".
.We rate this film Very Good.
