In 2000, Briski asked New York documentry editor Ross Kauffman to make
movie about these poor kids.Their work resulted in a documentry of eight kids
that they tried to help.Briski tried to put these kids in boarding schools and
fought with the Indian bureaucracies at different stages.More over Briski faced
a lot of resistance from the girls' mothers who will be loosing another source
of income. Some of the children are still attemding the boarding schools Briski
found for them while others went back to the pathos of the red light
district. Some of the photographes taken by these kids are astonishingly
beautiful.Briski came up with an excellent plan to use the photographes taken by
these children to fund their education.
The documentry film created by Briski and Kauffman "Born into
Brothels" is premiered at Human Rights Watch Film Festival earlier and now
it will be shown worldwide. They have exihibited the dismal existence of these
haples kids very well.Definetely they are trying to transform the lives of many
prostitues as well as their kids alike.
Briski's love and compassion caught the attention of many people in different
arena all around the world. She did prove that each and every kid will have some
kind of creativity in them but they have no chance to develope it.The film
itself protray the boundless creativity of the children in dire
circumstances. The dedication and caring of Briski and Kauffman to support and
change the destines of these unfortunate children are remarkable. They are the
people who are not driven by greed and avarice but they are caring and giving.
