The quiet but immense water spread of the lake, is an eye-catching spectacle and a perennial source of water to Tansa wildlife sanctuary. The lake and sanctuary is 25km from Mahuli village. Mahuli is located 92km north east of Mumbai. Close to the lake is the Mahuli fort.

Access:  By Mumbai suburban electric train to Asangaon and then 14.4 km by road. By road take NH3 from Mumbai to Asangaon/ Shahapur. Turn left to the state road, from there it is a 15minutes ride to Mahuli.
