The BB & CI office in the centre of Veer Nariman Road and Maharshi Karve Road was built in 1899 next to Church gate station. It was designed by Frederick Stevens. It is a fanciful palatial building in a hybrid style that has been dubbed Oriental Gothic. It is now the administrative headquarters of Western Railway.
