The hero with his chocolate looks and dimpled smile has earned a large female fan following in the Telegu film world. Hailing from a middle class family, he was aspiring to become a bank officer until Director Teja made him a film star with 'Chitram' (2000). He has 'Manasantha Nuvve' (2001), 'Nuvvu Nenu' (2001), 'Kalusukovalani' (2002), 'Love today' (2004), 'Avunanna Kadanna' (2005), 'Holi' etc to his credit.  He was engaged to Telegu Super Star Chiranjeevi’s daughter Sushmita but for some reason this marriage was cancelled. This incident made his ratings shoot up. But with recent flops in Telugu, Uday Kiran, tries his luck in the Tamil industry and is doing quite well in Tamil films.
