Parvin Dabbas, handsome model-turned-aspiring
actor, started his film career as a child artist at the age of 14. His first role was as Samrat Ashoka in an Indian ballet. He
earned
an honours degree from the American Academy of Dramatic Arts, New
York. After that he took up modeling as his profession. He appeared in many TV
Commercial ads and serials which paved his way to the silver screen. This charming
guy became popular with his first international film, 'Monsoon Wedding'
(2001) by
Mira Nair. The film bagged the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival and
was highly appreciated at the Toronto film festival. After his critically acclaimed performance in
Monsoon Wedding,
the affable actor went on to play the lead opposite Emily Hamilton in 'Memsahib' by the makers of Monsters Ball starring Halle Berry. He
is the only Indian to be signed on for a four-hour long American mini
series. The actor now living in Mumbai, is also an avid scuba diver and
photographer.
