It is a sentimental fare with Superstar Mamootty enacting the role of a servant who dedicates his life to the family he works for.

The story is set in Eshwaramangalam tharavadu where Saraswathy Amma (Sarada) is the mistress. Mamootty plays Krishnan who has been with the family ever since he was found abandoned during a temple festival and brought home by Saraswathy Amma's late husband. Saraswathy Amma lives alone in the big house with Krishnan and other servants.

Saraswathy Amma and Krishnan has a special bond between them and she looks upon him as her own son. Trouble brews when the family members who had not visited for a long time all come to spend a holiday together at the Tharavadu. A new servant Malavika (Nayan Thara) is brought home to help Krishnan.

What was supposed to be a happy vacation turns out to be farce, and the actual reason for the gathering of the family was partitioning of the property. Saraswathy Amma is left with next to nothing and they even start to disintegrate the old ancestral home when one of them wants to built the same house in the city. Krishnan is just a servant to everyone in the large family and they treat him badly, except for Saraswathi Amma's one son ( Balachandra Menon), and daughter (Geethu Mohandas) who had a soft corner for him.

The family decide to put Saraswathy Amma with her youngest son. She pleads with her family to give Krishnan a small share of the property for which they disagree. He asks for the right to light a lamp at their fathers grave. In the meantime Malavika's father passes away leaving her with no place to go. Watch the movie to see whether Saraswathy Amma and Krishnan are able to live without each other...

Kamal tries to stir the sentiments of the audience in his latest film. Script by T.A Razzak and cinematography by P. Sukumar  is flawless. Music by Mohan Sitara to the lyrics of Kaithaparam is easy on the ears and there are one or two numbers that are noteworthy.

Mammooty plays his low profile role with elaan. He is the simple, straight, trustable guy who takes things in his stride. His portrayal of Unni Krishnan is sure to be a hit with his fans. Nayanthara sans makeup for the first time plays the totally de-glamourised role of a servant. Veteran Sarada as Saraswathy Amma enacts her role competently as usual. The rest of the cast including Geetu Mohan Das, Balachandra Menon, Janardanan, Salim Kumar, Vijaya raghavan, UnniKrishnan Namboothiri, Balachandran Chullikadu, Thara Kalyan gives adequate support.

Overall it is a sentimental family film which may click well especially with Mamooty fans.
