After the resounding success of Bharathchandran IPS, Suresh Gopi dons Police costume once again in The Tiger, directed by Shaji Kailas. The director and the actor are teaming together after a gap of seven years. Real life Congress leader, who was always in the limelight for one controversy or the other, plays the role of the Chief Minister of Kerala. The story is placed against the background of the current political scenario prevailing in the State.

Suhra, played by Gopika, is an investigative journalist working on popular television channel, who does not kowtow before the powers that be, but has won public appreciation through her dedication to the profession and her honest and matter-of-fact style of reporting. In the course of her investigation she stumbles upon a news story that can turn the entire political establishment in the State on its head. While she is on her way back to the studios she vanishes.

Her disappearance causes a big hue and cry in the state and the government is compelled to institute an enquiry. In comes Crime Branch Superintendent of Police Chandrashekhar, a brave and upright officer who is known to scrupulously enforce the law, and does not think twice about taking the fight to the enemy's camp. The story revolves around unraveling the mystery around Suhra's disappearance, and bringing the culprits to book. The Tiger promises to be a fast moving, action-filled entertainer. From what appears, the film will not have any romance or songs.

A unique feature of the film is the introduction of spot editing. Each scene that is shot is edited on the spot by Don Max the editor and shown on a computer monitor. This helps in reducing the production time.

Story, Script and Dialogue are by Unnikrishnan. Shyam Dutt does the cinematography. Co-stars include Rajan P Dev, Murali, Saikumar, Siddique, Thilakan, Subair, Vijayakumar, Anand, Vineeth Kumar, Santhosh, Ponnamma Babu, Kiran Raj, Kollam Ajith, Suvarna Mathew, Harshan and Saddique. The film is being produced by Sasi Ayyanchira, and will be released under the Banner of Sri Uthrattathi Films Pvt. Ltd., It is scheduled to hit the screens by Christmas
