After wowing southern movie goers with her acting, Chaya Singh is set
to wield the megaphone to make a bilingual in Hindi and English.
The film's script is getting ready. Chaya is co-scripting it with Bangalore
based-writer Shreyas.
"Yes, I am turning into a director. I am co-scripting the story
with Shreyas. And I am hopeful of getting a corporate company to back
this project," Chaya, who is meeting PVR owners for the film, told
IANS.
"Incidentally, even Pyramid Saimira has also shown interest in
the project," she added.
Although Chaya did not reveal much details about the film, she maintained
that it would deal with a problem confronting the youth. "The film
will be peppy and will have a youthful touch."
Meanwhile, Chaya's Kannada film "Akasha Gange" was released
on the same day the much-hyped Kamal Haasan "Dasavathaaram"
hit the screens. Though the film did not witness a good opening, critics
and fans appreciated Chaya's performance.
"I am getting a good feed back from my fans. I would give credit
to director Dinesh Babu who has worked so hard for the film. He has
been giving me lot of support from the beginning of my career,"
said Chaya, who speaks Kannada and Tamil fluently.
The actress forayed into filmdom with Kannada film "Chitte",
but shot to fame after the success of her Tamil hit "Thiruda Thirudi"
with Dhanush. Post the film, she was inundated with offers from Tamil
filmmakers.
However, her recent Tamil release "Vellamai Thoraayo" did
not match her previous success as it didn't do well - but it had a good
story line, which was appreciated by critics.
Presently, she is working in two Bhojpuri films and also awaiting the
release of her next Tamil film "Solli Adippen" in which she
is paired with comedy actor Vivek.
