Oscar winning actress Nicole Kidman was so upset after watching the movie "Breaking the Waves" that she cancelled a dinner engagement and went home to cry.

The "Moulin Rouge" star still doesn't seem to be sure why the movie had upset her so much.

Contactmusic.com quoted her as saying: "I saw that film and I was supposed to go out to dinner afterward. I had to cancel dinner. I went home, got into bed, curled up in a ball, and cried. I don't know why I had such a profound, deep reaction to that film, but I did. It disturbed my spirit."

"Breaking the Waves" is directed by controversial filmmaker Las Von Trier and stars British actress Emily Watson.
